  • Dark Covenant Leadership Supports Exploiting:

We’ve been PKing a group of 40’s Dark Covenant at Plains of Anguish for the last couple weeks because so many of their members have been blatantly exploiting. A couple nights ago the typical group of fodder brought in another group of 50’s to protect them during the hours that we normally attack. In total, they had 13 members in the zone…so of course we attacked…and immediately had our buffs removed, but still won the fight. In typical gimp newbie fashion then proceeded to regroup their entire guild and do hit and run bard charms on us. This can be fairly annoying when 25% to 50% of their guild play bards.

So we left the area to regroup in hopes of getting a chance to buff up and I had this convo with Ugg, an Officer in DC.

    Cowards of Sartok Updated

DC should be reviewed and suspended by SOE.

After admitting to exploiting and accusing us of exploiting as if that's some excuse, some gimp named Ninetyfive started running his mouth calling us exploiters too. So after our next fight I followed him to Lomshir and took him down 1v1...

After that he started sending tells to Funhat discussing the above topic and ended up meeting us at one of our guild houses and dueling. I think he realized that there's a difference between exploiting and player skill and said that he put "do not remove OPP buffs" in their MOTD. Hopefully we won't have more trouble with them removing our buffs, but based on their track record...

Dark Covenant is the worst guild when it comes to stripping buffs; Most other guilds only have a handful of bards at any given time and they tend to strip buffs on called targets only, unless the fight is over and they're being an annoyance. But DC will have players dedicated just for this task, going down the list one after another removing all our buffs. Such a pansy move.

I've heard this "stacking buff" complaint before, what does that even mean? Yeah we have a lot of buff classes in our guild. *Newsflash* gimps, buffs are a legitimate feature of the game. Damn right there are a lot of them - IMO this game has about 50 - 80 % more buffs than it needs to have - but that's no justification for using an exploit to get rid of them

Learn to PvP within the rules and you might actually get some talent

In addition to what Fats said about the buffs: They are a part of the game, and if you understand certain important elements of the game, you know that some of them are crucial. When setting up a group, a great tactic is calculating the buff spread so you have as little vulnerabilities as possible. We did this and now we get complaints from people who jump on the flavor of the month bandwagon and form a group full of buggy ass bards with no buffs (taking advantage of what they thought was every semi-legal edge in the game) and now we get complaints from those same groups whining that we "stack buffs". Get over it...

On a similar note, if by "stacking buffs" they actually mean that we use exploits to put the same buff just each level of it on the same person then they are retarted. Its very easy to see that we do not do that by targetting one of us and looking at the current buffs we have on. So that accusation holds about as much water as a Southern Californian resevoir.

I guess it boils down to the fact that when a group of ego driven online gamers who constantly self inflate their e-peens get rolled by a small group of better players, they have to have an excuse (because its impossible that they actually lost to a better group of players of course..). We have to face the fact that as long as we keep owning these un coordinated little kids, they will continue to make accusations against us to justify their losing. These accusations will range from absolutely ridiculous and lacking any sense whatsoever (hexadecimal) to this one which is incorrect but at least viable.

IMO, when you loose, learn, get better, and get over it cause its a video game.
