    There's not a lot of new information this week as we grind towards the expansion. Seems like everyone around here is testing, tweaking, brushing up, and number crunching.

    On the expansion: We’re doing well on the expansion activities, features are locked down, most of the checklist is checked off, and it looks like we’re good for next week. I know an exact date is in high demand, but even we don't have that yet. We should know this by Monday.

    Some connectivity issues on EU1 are still there, our provider is now cooperating with IBM and Redhat while we monitor the situation and keep providing them with data. There’s nothing more we can do at this time other than keep on top of things.

    There were some final upgrades to dungeon elements and dungeon quest mechanics have been tweaked. Newbie introductory dungeons have been added to capital cities. AI is getting final tests in relations to dungeons, there’s a lot of testing in this area since the dungeon updates are very significant. The world-builders have revisited some of the new dungeons to fix some issues and are helping to test the new terrain while they do prep work and planning for future additions to the world and working with tools programmers on world-builder tool improvements. Vendor inventories are now more complete and vendors have been added to dungeons.

    Treasure map functionality was tested and finalized and their significant rewards were balanced. There had been a lot of balancing during this time and numerous fixes in item/object attributes.

    Much work has been done on the monsters for this expansion and beyond, new ones have been made, old ones remade, or improved. Attach-points have been reviewed, work on new and existing animations done, brush-ups, fixes, and final tweaks before the expansion. There have been upgrades to low level monster loot and other loot/drop balancing.

    Preparations, tools and planning for more major graphical updates to Darkfall are also underway and I saw some very impressive tests today. Our work-flow has also been optimized to keep future generations of Darkfall in mind.

    As we mentioned last week, a lot of new lore is being continuously produced and it explains a lot of what has happened and what’s happening and hints to future events so we recommend that you keep an eye on it now more than ever.

    Some database optimizations having to do with clans were performed and several minor bugs have been fixed including a lag inducing bug some players were exploiting. Everyone seems to be fixing bugs around here additionally to their regular activities, and many of the old persistent bugs are squashed or set up to be squashed.

    As far as communication goes you should start seeing improvements across the board, with an effort of making it more interactive and diverse. Finally, the events team is working on several events for after the new expansion, some of these events will be dynamic and not announced, others will be proper planned events and will be officially announced. I have to say that some of the events coming in the near future look pretty epic.
