There's been lots of conversation over the last few weeks about the state of Kyrios. For those of you who don't play: The TWO II western alliance allied with the three largest Eastern guilds to form a very large alliance to fight the pirates. Even though their numbers matched or exceeded all other pvpers on Kyrios they complained that they couldn't heal each other and their AOEs hit each other. Their solution: Move their super zerg to pirate. But there's already pirates...and that's the power play.
Much if not all leadership of Wardens(PRX), TT6, Paradigm, Gankbus, Catalyst, and assorted others moved to pirate on Sunday. Their goal is to try to force the two main pirate guilds (NaCl and CD) out of pirate. If they succeed this "TWO III alliance" will have the largest, most geared, and most active guild/alliance on the server. If they fail the pirate guilds will likely absorb at least some of them which would then make the current pirates the largest, most geared, and most active guild/alliance on the server.
Bottomline: It's not good for Kyrios, it's cowardly, but in fairness to them it was their only option given the circumstances they created for themselves. The circumstances are really quite easy to understand. TWO III wants to retain the advantage of numbers and gear. With upcoming patches emphasizing diminishing returns for the most geared players they're legitimately worried. I anticipate many of them will quit if they can't bolster their gear scores further to cushion their lacking player skill and group coordination. Again, none of this is good for Kryios.
So where does that leave the East and the West? That remains to be seen. There's definitely a void when guilds claim to be "pro-faction", dominate all of the gear drops for a certain amount of time, and then leave to form a huge zerg in the pirate faction.
There's several threads going on the Kyrios Forums for anyone interested in following the drama.
