That can be a good or bad thing, listening to thier players that is.

I agree, listening to the players is a very sharp double edged sword. Just look @ UO.

Confusion wrote:Sorry, I haven't been following this game as much as I was before, I was wondering if this game is stupid and gay like WoW where you have to have items to compete, or if its more along the lines of UO where a naked person with skill could rape anyone. How long does it take to get to a maxed out character. (eg 7x gm or level 60 or whatever) Thanks.

Yes and unfortunately for darkfall the most vocal followers are brown nosing half-wits whom I have almost no confidence in their capability for abstract thought. It continually amazes me how ridiculously retarded a lot of the DF forum suggestions and "deep" insights on gaming are. The IRC channel is more of the same except there are more power tripping mods with sticks firmly entrenched up their asses spewing fascist bullshit about rules. If the internet had odours darkfall's forum and IRC channel would smell of cheetos and hand lotion.
There are a lot of reasonably intelligent players out there with some constructive things to say, but those that aren't scared away by the sticky white substance oozing off the screen have more interesting things to do with their time than spend 20 hour stretches hanging around an unreleased games forum, so the people that might actually help improve the gameplay aren't heard from as much.
That being said the game absolutely has potential to be the next great PvP game, but there is still a ways to go yet. I just hope the dumbasses are ignored or at least drowned out by a flood of players that actually have experience PvPing outside WoW and DAoC.

Players in North America are welcome to participate in the European Launch. The plans for US servers aren’t finalized at the time of this announcement. We will offer the option for character migration to US servers for N. American players who wish to use it. We have had people playing without problem from all over the US and Canada. That being said, our servers are located in Germany and distance does affect ping-time.
